Message from Mrs. Borsh:
Aloha is more than a word of greeting or farewell. Aloha means mutual regard and affection and extends warmth in caring with no obligation in return. Aloha is the essence of relationships in which each person is important to every person for collective existence. Aloha means to hear what is not said, to see what cannot be seen and to know the unknowable. (N.k)

At Laupahoehoe we teach and practice Nā Hopena A‘o or HĀ. These are the six outcomes to be strengthened in every student over their learning journey. As their 5th-Grade teacher, I model behaviors that demonstrate what these outcomes look like. Outcomes include a sense of Belonging, Responsibility, Excellence, Aloha, Total Wellbeing and Hawai‘i. These outcomes become the core BREATH that can be drawn on for strength and stability throughout school and beyond.

Daily Practice of:

   Wa Piko (Laupahoehoe Chant)

   E Hō Mai

   Hawai'i State Song

   Oli Mahalo
